Lonavala is a town of Pune District in Maharashtra. Lonavala is a gorgeous hill station and situated at Sahyadri ranges. Lonavala is famous for its weather and scenic views. Lonavala rooms many sightseeing spots to explore. Lonavala is ninety six kilometers away from Mumbai and sixty four kilometers from Pune. Mumbai – Pune highway and Mumbai – Pune expressway pass through the Lonavala. There are some popular tourist spots as follows – Rajmachi Point, Reywood Park and Shivaji Udyan, Valvan Dam, Amruntanjan Point (Khandala), Tungarli lake, Lohagarh Fort, Lonavala lake, Karla Caves, Bhushi Dam etc.

Rajmachi Point : – Rajmachi Point is 6.5 kilometers away from Lonavala. Here you can view the famous Shivaji Fort and its surrounding valley. The popular Vaghjai Dari is also situated here.

Lohagarh Fort : –

Lohagarh fort is at eleven kilometer distance from Malavali railway station. Lohagarh fort or Iron Fort was the battle station of Maratha Warrior Shivaji. You will see a nice view of lush green hills.

Reywood Park and Shivaji Udyan :- This is an attractive garden for tourists and located at Lonavala. This garden is fully covered by tall trees. An old Shiva temple is also there. This garden has a lot of space for children to play.

Valvan Dam : – Valvan Dam is two kilometers away from Lonavala. Valvan Dam rooms a garden at the base. This is a popular evening spot. Valvan Dam supplies water and generates electricity.

Tungarli Lake : – This is a beautiful lake and looks crystal clear in monsoon season. Tungarli lake supplies water in Lonavala zone. Tungarli lake is a famous picnic spot for those who want to take a break from fast life.

Nose Of Duke : – Duke’s Nose is around twelve kilometers away from Lonavala. This is clearly visible landmark from highway. This landmark is popular with hikers.

Leap Of Tiger : – This is a cliff – top sheer drop of six hundred fifty meter with an extensive view.

I.N.S. Shivaji : – This is a naval Engineering training base.

Wax Museum : –

Wax museum is three kilometers away from the Varsoli railway station. Wax museum is the new attraction for tourists, it displays the wax works of sculptor artist Sunil Kandaloor. Rs.100/- per person charged.

Kaivalyadhama Yoga institute : – Kaivalyadhama Yoga Institute was founded in 1924. This institute conducts training, therapy and research in Yoga. Kaivalyadhama is recognized as the All India Institute Of Higher Learning by Government Of India.

Scorpian’s Sting : – Scorpian’s sting’s another name is Vinchu Kata. Scorpian’s Sting is narrow and long spur in Lohagarh Fort. This pack offers you with a nice view of green sceneries.

Tung Fort :- It’s another name is Kathingad. Tung Fort situated in the Mawal zone. Mawal zone was ruled by the Maratha Kings. Its height is 3500 feet. The Tung Fort is an adventurous destination. There are a cave and a lake in the fort area.
