Nabadwip is a city in the district of Nadia which is situated in the Indian state of west Bengal area. This place is considered as one of the most sacred places in this state. In Bengali the word nabadwip means 9 islands. The names of the islands are as follows: Simantadwip, Koladwip, Modadrumwip, Madhyadwip, Godrumdwip, Ritudwip, Jahnudwip, Antardwip and Rudradwip.
